Middle Earth Map Commissions

If you’re here you’ve probably seen my Middle Earth map on social media or Knightweave, my families small business. I’m an artist, entrepreneur and well rounded nerd with a particularly soft spot in my heart for The Lord of the Rings.

In response to a number of requests I’m opening up commissions for Middle Earth Map builds. Something that many have asked for and something I would like to try. I am treating these commissions as art pieces and because of the time intensive nature of creating an individual board the price is calculated by a single factor: What I'm willing to create one for and this is subject to change.

Each map is 6’ x 4’, constructed of foam, plaster, resin and mixed media elements. The map is true to scale and accurate to the official The Lord of the Rings map as seen in the films and commissions will be fitted with a wooden frame to finish the edges of the piece.

THIS IS NOT A TABLE but rather a framed art piece. It does not include legs or a glass top.

Landmarks on this piece are not to scale - but similar to The Lord of the Rings map itself - landmarks, castles and keeps are depicted by drawings indicating the location of important locations within Middle Earth.

To stay true to this map making practice and also to ensure that all landmarks are visible and recognizable to the naked eye, each landmark will appear larger relative to the map than it would if it were true to scale to the full landmass of Middle Earth.

CONSTRUCTION TIME: Please allow for up to 6 weeks for the creation of your piece.

Orders:

If you’d like to place an order I’m opening up the first 3 commissioned maps at $7,500 a piece excluding shipping. These will be sold first come first serve. Each commission requires 50% down payment via Venmo or PayPal before work commences. Prior to placing your order we will need to arrange shipping. If you live within a 5 hour driving radius from SLC Utah I can deliver your map personally, other wise we will need to arrange pickup or transport as a piece this size and delicate cannot be mailed by post. Construction time will be approximately six weeks.

Thanks for checking out the map. I wish they were something mass producible so that everyone could have one but at the same time I do think there’s something special about the level of handmade craftsmanship and attention to detail that comes from a custom piece like this.
